Meeting new girlfriends in a big city is quite difficult after college. It gets even harder if you lived in the Southern region of the United States. But after experiencing an unpleasant moment at the Offshore Technology Conference earlier this year, I had the sudden urge to organize fun networking events for like-minded women in Houston. Motivated by the objectives of creating genuine friendships, expanding professional networks, and building a strong interconnected community similar to boys clubs, I was on mission to build this social fun organization.
The idea of The Dress Club then evolved into many more things, at that point, (I) became (WE) as many great individuals joined believing in the mission of this company. Yet with many of us, it took an entire week to simplify our identity, who were we, what we wanted to achieve, and how were we going to achieve it. Two days before traveling to meet our prospective -now- partners and future employees, our aha moment finally came through during our lunch meeting.
